SEND

"Our vision for children with special educational needs and disabilities is the same as for all children and young people – that they achieve well in their early years, at school and in college, and lead happy and fulfilled lives".  DfE 2015

At Mayfield Preschool we are committed to creating a fully accessible setting which values all - children, parents, staff and visitors, regardless of their education, physical, sensory, social, spiritual, emotional and cultural needs.  We have a clear ethos of mutual respect and work towards creating an inclusive environment.

What is the Local Offer and how will it help us?

The Local Offer is published as part of the SEND reforms under the Children and Families Bill, and part of this means giving information about education services.

It acts to provide support to:

  • Children and young people with SEN and/or disabilities (SEND)

  • Children and young people from birth to 25 years

  • Their parents and carers

  • Practitioners and professionals

In recent years, the Local Offer has helped us to look at how accessible for all our Preschool is, as well as review the practices we put in place to actively support all. With an extension improving the physical environment and facilities, and a well qualified Senco and team, we hope to provide the very best level of Early Years education that we can.  We aim to liaise closely with you regarding your child's needs, working alongside local services as needed.
